There are two categories of membership in HFAM: provider member and associate business member. Learn more about the two membership types below. When a healthcare provider joins HFAM, they automatically a member of the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
Provider MemberProvider members are comprised of licensed healthcare facilities that provide long-term and post-acute care services, such as skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers and assisted living communities.
The associate membership is for individuals and companies that supply goods or services to healthcare facilities or simply have a professional interest in long-term health care

- Political Action Committee
The HFAM Nursing Home PAC is one of many tools used to develop relationships with elected leaders and build a robust dialogue on policies that advance our quality care agenda for the benefit of Marylanders in need.
- Communications
Up-to-the-minute communications via newsletters, priority updates, legislative bulletins, and special publications that address current issues.
- Access to National Initiatives
As the Maryland affiliate of AHCA/NCAL, membership with HFAM provides access to and input on federal legislation and regulation impacting long-term and post-acute care.
- Education
Educational opportunities, including seminars, workshops, specialized courses and guidebooks and tools are offered.
- Networking
HFAM’s committees provide opportunities for networking and participation in the association. It is through these committees and membership involvement that HFAM is successful in proactively meeting the rapidly changing needs of the industry.
- Member Discount Programs
The HFAM Service Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Health Facilities Association of Maryland, offering quality services and products to our membership and to other long-term care providers at a reasonable cost.
