Course Discription:

This program offers a comprehensive review of the many regulatory changes impacting the provision of medically related social services and strategies for planning and implementing efficient, compliance care practices. The responsibility of the social worker to serve as advocate and the ethical challenges that may occur when there is confict over care decisions will be addressed. The importance of ensuring compliance with Pre-admission Screening and Resident Review regulations and responsibilities relative to advance directives and reduction of psychotropic medication will also be discussed.
