ICD-10 Diagnosis Coding to Support PDPM
Thursday, March 14, 2019
9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
(8:30 AM check-in)

With the October 1, 2019 date for implementation of PDPM, diagnosis coding will take on even more importance. Diagnoses of both hospital and SNF conditions, will need to be reported on the MDS and will have a major impact on reimbursement. Reinforce your skills now and be prepared for assigning Clinical Case Mix Groupings under PDPM.

PDPM is a huge change for skilled nursing providers in that patient condition, rather than therapy minutes, will drive reimbursement. Under PDPM, ICD-10 codes will form the basis of reimbursement.  It will be critical for you to have accurate identification of ICD-10 procedure and diagnosis codes.

This training will:

  • review ICD-principles
  • identify specific guidelines pertinent to the SNF setting
  • discuss “real “world” coding examples
  • offer “live hands-on” coding practice

Note:  Attendees are encouraged to bring, laptop or tablet or ICD-10-CM manual to participate in the coding practice

Target Audience:  Administrators and Center Directors, Directors of Nursing and all other nursing staff, MDS Staff, Medical Records, Quality Assurance Directors, Therapy Staff, Regional Operations and Clinical Directors

Continuing Education Credit:  5.0 for Administrators and Social Workers.  A Certificate of Attendance will be provided for those wishing to self-submit to their professional board for continuing education approval.

Cost:  HFAM Members:  $175 first registrant – $150 each additional.  Prospective Members:  $250 first registrant – $225 each additional.
