Maryland
Center for Assisted Living
Identifies and defines the needs of assisted living and other
residential facilities. Monitors the implementation of Assisted
Living Program regulations, the Medicaid Waiver and relevant
legislation.

Associate and Provider Membership
Identifies and advocates the values of membership in HFAM. Plans and
supports membership benefits and networking programs.

Convention
Plans, promotes and supports the HFAM Annual Convention & Trade
Show.

Educating for Quality
Organizes and promotes education programs, activities and tools for
every discipline in the long-term continuum health care setting, to
inspire the health care team in achieving their optimal level of
quality. Proactively researches and develops alternative methods for
education and training.

Legislative Steering Committee
Develops a proactive legislative agenda including draft legislation,
key member programs and meetings with Maryland’s administrative and
legislative officials. Reviews and disseminates information relating
to government affairs on both the state and national levels.
Planning & Regulatory
Analyzes proposed regulations and develops Association positions for
recommendation to regulatory agencies. Maintains a proactive
relationship with the Office of Health Care Quality and the Maryland
Health Care Commission.
Political Action
Raises funds and educates members to support government to enhance
long-term care. Educate legislators on HFAM and members issues.

Reimbursement
Monitors the reimbursement system and assists in educating
legislative and regulatory agencies on long-term care payment
issues. Maintains an effective database to monitor and evaluate
Maryland’s reimbursement system.
Technology
Researches, develops and educates on new technology advances for the
profession.
