<p>Robin Storey, RN, BSN, FACDONA, LNHA has more than 25 years of extensive healthcare leadership in the field of geriatrics.  She was a member of the CMS task force created to develop the MDS 2.0 training materials and served two terms on the JCAHO Professional Technical Advisory Committee.  Storey is the Director of Clinical Reimbursement Services with Pathway Health Services and is a CMS Trained MDS expert.</p>
<p>Robin Storey is a founding member of the National Association of Director of Nursing Administration/LTC, serves as its vice president, and is the first recipient of NADONA’S Nursing Administrator of the Year Award.</p>
<p>She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Webster University, is a Fellow in the Academy of Certified Directors of Nursing Administration and is a licensed nursing home administrator.</p>

<p>She has educated public and professional audiences on problematic issues of aging, mental health and caregiving for 13 years. She holds a degree in Human Services from the George Washington University and a certificate in geriatric mental health from the University of Washington in Seattle.</p>

<p><strong>Mary Van de Kamp, CCC-SLP</strong>, Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations, has supported Peoplefirst Rehabilitation for over 10 years, serving in both operational and clinical capacities with a primary focus of attaining clinical excellence.<br />
Ms. Van de Kamp demonstrates an expertise in maximizing financial outcomes through supporting clinical growth of therapists. Her exceptional leadership skills have been a major factor in assisting the organization to successfully navigate through the ever changing and challenging healthcare environment.<br />
Ms. Van de Kamp has developed relationships with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services as well as many of the Fiscal Intermediaries to help guide clinicians through the reimbursement and regulatory environments.</p>
<p><strong>Glenda Mack, MSPT</strong>, Senior Director of Clinical Operations, Peoplefirst Rehabilitation, the rehabilitation division of Kindred Healthcare, has served Kindred Healthcare in the areas of clinical, operational and regulatory compliance with a primary focus on patient outcomes through interdisciplinary approaches to care.</p>
<p>Ms. Mack has served in the role of Sr. Director of Clinical Operations since January 2009. Prior to that she served Kindred as the physical therapy clinical specialist. Ms. Mack has achieved distinction as a Certified Wound Specialist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist. During her tenure with Kindred, she has participated actively in professional associations such as American Physical Therapy Association, National Association for the Support of Long Term Care and the American Healthcare Association.</p>
<p>In addition Ms. Mack has participated in multiple regulatory and payment committees regarding appropriate payment for services in the skilled nursing facility setting. Most recently, Ms. Mack has been intimately involved in supporting Peoplefirst partners through the transition to MDS 3.0 and RUG IV</p>
<p><strong>Jeanna Conder, MBA, OTR/L</strong>, National Director of Occupational Therapy Services, Peoplefirst Rehabilitation, the rehabilitation division of Kindred Healthcare, has 20 years of clinical and operational experience in a variety of healthcare settings. Most recently her primary focus has been providing clinical oversight and training to the Occupational Therapists within the Peoplefirst organization.</p>
<p>Ms. Conder also works with the compliance department to ensure proper practice within various facilities served by Peoplefirst.  She is well versed in long-term care regulations. Ms. Conder is active in the American Occupational Therapy Association as well as other state and local organizations and committees.</p>

<p>This comprehensive training course is designed to provide participants with an extensive knowledge of of the impact of the MDS 3.0 process, coding, scheduling, reimbursement and how the MDS/RAI process drives regulatory compliance. The program will cover coding, resident interviews, CAA’s, care planning, RUGS, Medicare, and medical review.  This three part series goes above and beyond the basic MDS 3.0 and Medicare training being offered elsewhere.</p>
<p>Since every Interdisciplinary Team Member plays an integral part in the process and needs to understand their part and how it all comes together, this course is for the whole team.  Whether you’re just beginning or have been doing the MDS for years, this course is for you.</p>
<h3>Objectives</h3>
<p>The participant will be able to:</p>

<li>Complete the MDS 3.0 Item Sets</li>
<li>Describe the OBRA and PPS timing requirements for completion of the MDS</li>
<li>List four steps in the resident interview process</li>
<li>Describe the staging of wounds for the MDS 3.0</li>
<li>Explain key considerations for setting the Assessment Reference Dates</li>
<li>Describe which MDS 3.0 form should be used and when</li>
<li>Develop an internal quality assessment process using available data sources while QI’s and QM’s are not available</li>
